Simeon Berry was born in Guilford, Connecticut, in 1973 and was educated at New College and Eckerd College.  He HehE received a M.F.A. in Poetry from Indiana University in 2001.  He lives in Boston, where he is a poetry and fiction reader for Ploughshares.  He has won an Academy of American Poets Award, the Dana Award for Poetry, and a Career Chapter Award from the National Society of Arts and Letters.  His work has been recently published in The Literary Review, Washington Square, New Orleans Review, Southern Poetry Review, AGNI, Notre Dame Review, Crazyhorse, Passages North, Hayden's Ferry Review, Seneca Review, The Iowa Review, American Letters & Commentary, and is forthcoming in Chelsea, The Southeast Review, and Verse.  In 2005, his manuscript, Ampersand Revisited, was a finalist for the Walt Whitman Award, The Carnegie Mellon Classic Contemporaries Series, and The National Poetry Series.  In 2006, he received a Massachusetts Cultural Council Individual Artist Grant.
